JoeArchitect Participates In Local Design & Construction Seminar

JoeArchitect was honored to be a part of the collaboration seminar put on by BVB Construction. An audience of doctors, dentists, optometrists and veterinarians from around the Denver area in a wide-range of specialties joined the speakers for a dinner at Shanahan’s on a rainy Thursday evening to learn more about the many nuances associated with design and construction.
Joe Miller of JoeArchitect walked the group through the process of designing and constructing a new office space. He stressed the importance of working with an architect or interior designer experienced in medical office design, and how that expertise can make for a smooth efficient process. Joe touched on the different phases of the design and construction process and provided realistic information on timelines and estimated budget expectations.
The night consisted of four main aspects of a new building project for a doctor. The first speaker was Jeremy Keck of Bank of America Practice Solutions, who addressed the issue of securing financing on a project such as this. The professionals at Carr Realty followed that up with a discussion of the importance of involving a broker in your lease negotiations. Joe Miller of JoeArchitect continued the discussion from an architect and designer’s perspective. James Vigesaa from BVB Construction concluded the evening with information on what to expect during the construction phase of the project.
The attendees left with an arsenal of new information to assist them with their next project. The speakers, however, were the true winners of the evening. The attendees provided real-world feedback regarding issues and concerns that doctors and practice owners care about today. The response from the event was such that a second dinner has been scheduled for September 26, 2013.
